Sculpture
Reilly creates raw, minimal forms that are sculpted in clay and then finished with sand, Venetian marble dust and resin as a binder.
Reilly describes his style as primative-modern and strongly influenced by mid-century artists and designers such as Isamu Noguchi, Ruth Asawa, Calder and Barbara Hepworth.
"There is something about working in clay and sand that reminds me of being in nature as a child. I would spend hours at the riverbed mixing sand and mud and creating sculptures that I would then bring as gifts to my friends and neighbours"
- Myke Reilly
